Master Code

Legal Standing & Court Admissibility

Distinguish registration, evidence and actual legal obligations.

Registration: HVNL s706

The Master Code is a registered industry code of practice under the HVNL registration framework.

Evidence: HVNL s632A

A registered code may be admissible in proceedings as evidence of known hazards, risks and appropriate controls, subject to the applicable provision and circumstances. Registration under s706 and evidentiary use under s632A are different concepts.

Duties

Primary Duty is addressed in s26C; executive due diligence in s26D; prohibited requests in s26E. Read the current law. Using this portal or a checklist does not create immunity from prosecution or prove a duty has been discharged.

Source and scope

Read the official 2026 Master Code and registered Code PDF. This independent CoR Australia guidance illustrates controls and evidence to consider; it is not the regulator’s publication, an exhaustive checklist, legal advice or a compliance certificate. Select controls for your circumstances so far as is reasonably practicable. The HVNL operates in participating jurisdictions, not Western Australia or the Northern Territory.
